What flag material should I buy?

Polyester flags are the strongest, longest lasting material that was developed for maximum durability in strong wind conditions.  Our polyester flags are made of a tough 2-ply 100% spun polyester.  These are the flags you will want if you are in an area where your flagpole is going to catch a lot of wind.  They are going to last the longest in harsh weather conditions

Nylon flags offer the optimum combination of elegance and durability for every purpose.  They are made of a 100% nylon material that proved a rich and lustrous appearance.  They have great wearing strength due to the material’s superior strength-to-weight ratio.  It is also going to shed water better than any other flag and is going to fly in the slightest breeze.  They offer the brightest & most fade resistant colors of any material.

Cotton flags are a great option for ceremonies and for presentation purposes.  They are not intended to be used outdoors for extended periods of time.  They are really meant for short term outdoor use and indoor use.

What is meant by a single/reverse or single sided flag?

Flags that come in single reverse are read correctly on one side and read reverse on the other.  The color bleeds through to the other side and allows it to show up on the opposite side.  People don’t ever have a problem reading these flags and are great because they keep the cost down.

What size flag should I buy for my flagpole?

The rule of thumb is the length of the flag should be equal to 1/4-1/3 the length of your flagpole.  For instance, if you have a 25 foot flagpole, you could buy either a 4’x6′ flag or a 5’x8′ flag.  It’s important not to overload your flagpole with a ton of extra weight.  This will have an affect on the amount of wind a flagpole is able to take.  It’s also important not to have too small of a flag on the flagpole as this will cause the flag to look tiny compared to the pole it’s on and the visual image of the flag will look different.  Stick with the 1/4 to 1/3 rule and you should be fine.

What size rope should I get for my flagpole?

The most common size rope we sell is 5/16″.  This works well on commercial flagpoles up to around 50-60′.  Anything above that we recommend 3/8″ rope.  If you have a residential flagpole that is 20′ or smaller you could go with a 1/4″ rope.  We also sell rope that has a wire center core.  This really comes in handy where a flagpole rope breaks and you have to get a boom truck or find a way to get to the top of your flagpole to replace the rope.  With wire core rope it is a really nice back up so that you don’t have to get a costly boom truck out if the rope happens to break.

Where are your flags made?

All of our flags are made in the USA.  With the exception of sports flags and some garden flags (which are all made overseas in one form or another.  Military garden flags are all made in the USA) all of our flags are made in the USA.  We believe in getting a high quality product as well as having the symbol of our country be made in America.  All of our custom flags, military flags, POW flags and any other flags you will find on our website are all 100% made in America with American made materials!
